Ghana Have 2 day Anti Government Protest As African Youths Get Fed Up In Accra

A youth organization calling themselves "Arise Ghana" has decided to meet on Tuesday.

The protest is in response to the Akuffo Addo/Bawumia administration's increases in gasoline prices and hard economic conditions imposed on Ghanaians.

According to a Ghanaweb article seen by Africanews, the opposition National Democratic Congress' public affairs officer, Sammy Gyamfi, said the rally is also to protest the unpopular Electronic Levy and demand an investigation into the covid 19 spending.

According to local media sources, some Ghanaians are joining the demonstration to demand an investigation into the stealing of public lands by governing party leaders, notably the Achimota forest reserve, which has been a source of national worry.

According to the findings, a litre of fuel in Ghana as of 20 June 2022 cost 10.23 Ghanaian cedis (GHS), which is around 1.29 US dollars, or N535.50 in Nigeria.

Prior to the demonstration, Ghana's economic growth fell to 3.3 percent year on year in the first quarter, and inflation reached a new high of 27.6 percent in May, despite massive expenditure cutbacks and other efforts to improve the country's finances.
